Hi Everyone,

I'd like to temporarily work in the US (6 months to a year), but as I try to research jobs and the VISA process, I'm becoming quite discouraged.
Do people know of any employers who are willing to hire Canadians on a contract / temp basis? I don't have any specialized degrees and the company I work for now is only active in Canada.
As for specifics, I'm looking to work in Chicago - it's a beautiful city!

This whole process is unexpectedly overwhelming and I don't want to abandon the idea without really giving it a chance. Any advice you could provide would be much appreciated.

If you do not have a network of people who can help with this, use the job boards. They list jobs which are for contract only.

Main job boards for US positions
- monster.com
- dice.com
- careerbuilder.com
- yahoo hotjobs

Another option is to get hired through a recruiter. This is a great way to work in the U.S. Most Recruiters are more than willing to hire you with the TN visa and then have you work for the employer. So you are being paid by the recruiter.
