US friend wants me to start a biz with him..

Hello,
I currently have a TN visa and one of my co-workers wants me to leave and start a small business with him.
I know my TN does not qualify me to do this and I don't want to invest too much money in a lawyer quite yet.

Does anyone have any ideas on how or IF i can even do this?

E visa categories are for investors. Check into those. There are a lot of other threads around here with info about the Es.

Do you have a lawyer you can consult with? I dont think you are allowed to be NAMED on the company if you are here on a TN.

The answer is definitely get an E-2 visa. It's a lot of hassle to get an E visa but frankly it does focus your mind because you have to do a proper business plan and work out financing etc.
