US to Canada?

Post Sun Jul 06, 2008 2:03 am

What are my options for permanently moving to Canada? There would be 3 moving. I'm 17, my father is 37 and my step-mom is 22?

What would be the best way?

:( Waiting lists are since the waiting lists are so long. :(

Anything is accepted. Thanks.

Options would be for your parents to apply for either skilled worker visas, or investor/entrepeneur.

Have your parents check out the options and information on the Canadian Immigration website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp

And also maybe check out the community at http://roadtocanada.com/ and/or http://www.canadavisa.com/

Well, considering your parents are already married, how would that work? :p

And no, we do not condone illegal activity on this forum. Getting married just for the purpose of making immigration easier is illegal.

Well, I wouldn't say it would be solely for moving, I have a girlfriend there, but things haven't went any further, doesn't mean they won't.

I understand if you still cannot answer that.

If things ever did go any further and I were to marry, how long would it take for me to become a citizen and then after that how long would it take for family to also become citizens?

Thanks.

check out the other 2 forums I linked earlier. They're more about immigration than we are here.

The quickest way into Canada (by far) is to get a work permit. Check the Human Resources Canada site: http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/home.shtml for information about labour certification. If your job falls into a an approved labour category and you have a valid job offer, it's pretty straightforward.
