visa non biological grandparent

Post Thu May 19, 2011 5:59 am

Hi!

When I was talking to someone in the family, they brought up the idea of possibly acquiring a UK Ancestry visa instead of the Tier 5 YMS visa to give me a couple of extra years in the UK.

I looked into it because my grandmother was born in the UK....however, she is not my biological grandmother (my biological grandmother died before I was born and was German). Nowhereon the UKBA website can I find information regarding this circumstance.....I did find an adoption clause but that doesn't quite fit my circumstance. Does anyone know if it is possible to acquire an Ancestry Visa with a grandmother who is not biologically related?

If your grand-mother is not related by you either by birth or by adoption, you won't be able to claim UK Ancestry.
