Visa wait time?

How long did it take for your visa to be approved? Just wondering if anyone can provide some insight. I've read some posts on this forum and a lot of people said that they got email updates from the British High Commission. Our package arrived in Ottawa 2 days ago via FedEx, but we haven't received an email saying it was received. Should I be worried?

We did our biometrics in Ottawa on July 31st. We did a sameday delivery, but they didn't acknowldege until late on the 1st. We had an answer the following Wednesday (6th) and our documents in the mail last Friday (8th). I know they are processing a lot of visas at present, so they may have a small delay but they seem to be as quick as everyone states- mind you I guess it depends on what kind of visa you are applying for as well.

Ours arrived at the UK High Commission on Friday August 15 at 9:30 am according to Canada Post (we used the Express Post and tracked it). I received an email that they had received our documents this morning (August 19th) sent about 9:30 Ottawa time so it took them a full two business days to reply. The email says that processing begins as of today and normally takes 5 business days, they will email if it is non-straightforward or will take longer. Hope we get approved soon! I'll post when we do.

We finally got an email yesterday morning (Aug 18) that they received our applications and were starting to process them. But our package arrived at the High Commission by Fed Ex last Wed (Aug 13). Hopefully we won't have to wait much longer.we originally wanted to go over to the UK this Thurs on the 21st but hardly doubt that will happen.

We just received our email that the entry visa had been issued this morning so our Visa took 3 business days from the time processing began. Ours was a spouse of British Citizen application for settlement so we're very happy it went through so quickly.
