Visiting Lourdes, France

Post Fri Feb 23, 2007 6:28 pm

Hello there,

I'm planning a trip with my wife and 2 kids to Paris. Our primary goal is to visit the Basilica in Lourdes.

What are my options to travel from Paris to Lourdes (train, fly, bus, etc.).

What's the best time of the year to visit Lourdes?

Is Lourdes close to the Spain boarder and if so, do Canadians need visa to go to Spain and how far is to the boarder. What's the best way to go there (drive, cab, etc.)

Thanks,

Hey there,

A few answers: Traveling around france is best done with the train system. It's easy to buy tickets, once you know when and where you want to go. I have no idea where Lourdes is though, you should check for it on a map. I haven't been there before.

Canadians definitely do not need a visa for Spain, as it's part of the Schengen / EU countries. You probably won't even notice when you've crossed the border until you hit the first town. Again, trains are the best way to get around.
