Visiting the UK - Multiple entery throughout the year!

Postby manutd187 » Mon Jun 08, 2009 5:01 pm

Hi Guys,

I may be repeating a question asked so I apologise in advance.

I really need to know of people who have done this or know of someone who has.

I have been to the UK visiting my cousins for 5 months this year and really liked the place and now plan to go back for another 6 months with a view of travelling into Europe within this period. I am going to be back in Canada for just 2 months before going back to the UK. I am a student who has finished my studies. I did not have any issues once I came into the Uk in Jan and was stamped 6 mths without any real questions. I am worried though that I may not be allowed in again. I will have my return ticket and have enough funds and am being supported by my Mother's sis in the Uk. I got my cousin to ask several Immig lawyers in Manchester and he has reassured me they will let me in for a further 6 months if I have my docs and story etc in place. Obviously I will return home as my whole family is there and just need this time to reflect and travel before I settle down.

I just want to know first hand of anyone doing this i.e going back so soon. I have heard of some americans doing this with no probs and others have had issues!

Pls someone help!

Thx.....

Are you American or Canadian?

If you're Canadian you can get a working holiday maker visa, which will be valid for up to 2 years, and will allow you to work while you're there. But I don't think they're available to American citizens, only commonwealth citizens.

Thanks Reba, I may look into that option I am Canadian so I think this should be applicable........

But just going back to the orginal point anyone tried to enter the UK twice in a year for a substantial period of time?

Cheers...
