But as I said in my post, getting a gold account with Nat West GARANTEES a credit card. It's part of the packacge. I got my first credit card 2 months after arriving in the UK. I have a better one now of course, but it's a fast and easy way..

But that is IF you are eligible for the account, IF you pass the credit score to open the account etc. So people can't just run into any Natwest and open a Gold Account just like that. It isn't that simple I'm afraid.

In your circumstances it may have been but not everyone is in the same boat.
