Want to move to USA...Help!

I sent off papers for sponsership with my brother who lives in the
US. He is a US citizen. He received a letter stating all was ok and
we would hear from them in 990 days. Well time went by and I moved
and didn't get any info. My brother threw away the letter with the
case number on it. I now have no way to get any info from US immigration
on the status. Is there any way to get that number? I was told they
would not accept calls from outside the USA. I would also consider
a work visa. How would I go about getting one of these? Thanks for
reading this and I hope someone can help me get into the good old USA

Your brother should be able to call the 1-800 line to get his file number, and then he can keep track of the petition thereafter. They won't give the number to you I don't think because you are the beneficiary, not the sponsor.
