Hi!
I've just picked up a flying visit to Canada in January for 'Timeplan' a big UK based teacher recruitment company. Loads of Canucks work for the company all over the UK and we are visiting various universities in January looking to get some more. Interested?
I will be with the managing director and one of the many Canadian managers (both ladies) visiting Thunder Bay, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and North Bay in January 2009.
The various forums are interesting and all I would say is having lived abroad for a few years, England is still a great place to live and work, as a teacher you would also get the chance to travel all over the UK, and Europe is on the doorstep. We have culture (not that you don't) and history, the cosmopolitan and exciting music, pub and club scene (not just in London) and the opportunity to earn some cash, get transferable teaching skills and experience first hand what all the other people on this fine site talk about!
There is ice hockey (most of the players are Canadian I think), Canadian pubs and expats all over if you get homesick, but embrace English living and get a whole new perspective of the world (Britain is still pretty Great - just small), beer (real dark ale not thin lager rubbish) and Indian food!
If you are reading this I guess you may have an interest. I don't get any extra money but if you want to have a chat or get further information contact me through his site and I'll give you the dates we are in town to talk first hand. No commitments just your details to pass on the information and a chance to talk about any concerns.
Will I need my sandals in January?
Good Luck,
Steve HUTCHINGS
