Wanting to go home

Post Thu Oct 25, 2007 4:21 am

Basically here's the story, me and roommate/best friend have to move out of where we are, possibly in about 6 months. Now, I suggested that, seeing as we have been living in the UK maybe we can try living in Canada. I lay down a compromise saying what if we stay in Britain until he is done his second year of Open University and then we try living in Canada for 1 year to see whether or not he likes it. He says that's fair but June is 8 months away and he cannot say where his life will be he may be with some one etc.
Now, we tried moving back before but something always got in the way and basically I wish he would just admit he doesn't want to move back and then we could really talk about it.
I dunno, just need to vent. I really wanna keep living with him but I am not sure if I can live in the UK much longer, I really don't like it here.

What is it about the UK that you don't enjoy anymore? Have you given it a fair chance? If you feel that you have, then you've already answered your question.

I don't know you, nor your roommate, but it sounds like both of you aren't on the same page.

You have to do what makes you happy.

I don't see the point in staying here if you really don't like it. If you want to go to Canada then you should go, don't stay here on account of someone else. There's tons of cool people in this world I'm sure you could find other people you'd enjoy living with! Like LittleMapes said, do what makes you happy :)

Yeah my roomate knows I am probably leaving in June, it sucks because we are closer then brothers and honestly I wish he would give living in Canada a try but he has to do what makes him happy as do I.

i feel for ya, i really dislike living where i do, and when i say middlesbrough, people will most likely understand why, lol. So i'm moving back but i cant until i finish my third year of university so i'm just keepin on goin towards the day i can finally get on a plane and go home (killer flight tho, lol). Its going on 4 years i've been here, and 3 years too many. England is great for a holiday but i dont think i can live here much longer, I think you need to have a good talk and go home if you dont want to be here anymore, even if your roomate wont.
