Wanting to go to Aus. for 1 year ....

[b]So, a few friends and myself are trying to find information on moving to Australia for a year, to travel and just experience a new place. I looked into the working holiday visa... but is that the way to go? also we looked into the Swap program, still not sure how we go about making our way to Aussie Land!!! Anyways we're thinking about trying to go next November/December, how long away should we start looking into this?? so many questions I know, but if anyone has information or comments then feel free to help us out thanks!!!

a working holiday visa will get you in the country and allow you to work while you travel so that is your best option. I applied for mine on line and it was super easy. My visa was granted in less then 24 hours! Once you get the grant you have 1 year to enter Australia and then 1 year from entry date to work, so it gives you a bit of time to decide when you want to come. You could try looking for a job ahead of time on SEEK.COM.AU or find a placement agency when you arrive. If you decide you want to stay longer then a year, before your work visa expires you can apply for tourist visas.but then you can't work. Hope that all helps out. ? And how much did it cost ? I plan on applying for one after i get my passport.
