Wanting to live in france please help!

Post Thu Nov 01, 2007 8:41 am

Hi
I am looking to move to France, I don't have much in ways of belongings just a suitcase and a laptop. I have always wanted to move to Europe since I was about 10. Not until recently have I decided to move to the great country of France. There wine and love of life are my number one reason's for moving there. I know I will have hardships moving over hear in respect to finding a job and getting set up permanently there, but I have set my mind on France. I can pick up a language easy enough and have already started to learn searching various websites for french jobs.

I was wondering if there were any Canadians working in France that could give me advice in moving into France easier. I would like to move ASAP. Thanks for all the advice in advance.

BTW, I will be moving only by myself with a couple of suit cases so I am just looking for information about finding a job getting the visa. Websites, if you could recommend any websites that would be awesome. and again thanks for the info.

Also, I've heard it can be quit difficult

Hi,
Any tips for someone wishing to teach english in rance, i also speak french (it couldn't hurt to improve it neither!)

I researched some places and found the south to be more hospitable.what say you, any tips or advice where to stay or work in the south of France?

We live in Vancouver, and are looking to relocate to France. We have dual Hungarian / Canadian citizenship and will bring a good start up pot.
Where is the best place to live? We do not speak French yet, and wondering how terrible it would be to live and learn, explore and set up shop without the language. Looking to purchase a b&b, and get involved in tourism.

Where to start? South of France is expensive, and wondering where is a good place to start our 6 month research before moving there?

Any help would be appreciated.

Canadian adventurous family!

@ Eva,

Are you thinking of moving to France anytime soon? I was planning to move to the south - Aix or Marseille and would be very interested in working for you by acting as your interpreter; It would be impossible to live in a linguistically chauvinsitic country such as France and run a business/ B & B (even if your guests were all Englsh-speaking).

Perhaps we could do an exchange (room and board = language services); I worked for Novotel Toronto three years (reception & marketing) until my move to France in 2006.

Please get in touch : mariantonio@hotmail.fr. I am in Toronto until February 10, thereafter I will travel back to Angers in the Loire Valley.

Cheers,

Maria
