Wanting to move to the US from Canada

Post Sat Oct 07, 2006 11:49 am

Hello, I'm new here. I've met someone over in Ohio, and I wish to move out there. I have no criminal record or anything like that. Had some hard times, life isn't so good, and I want to move out there to start over. How can I make that possible? I have my highschool diploma, and that's it. I've been searching for info on line, but I can't find anything useful. I have little money. I'd be willing to work at a macdonalds, or some fast food place if I have to. Does anyone have any idea about this?
I'm wanting to movefrom Ontario, canada to Wilmington, Ohio.

are you and the someone in Ohio planning to live together, and at some point get married? That may be your only option, if you don't have a university degree, you're not eligiblbe for a TN (work) visa.

You can't just move there and get a job at McDonald's. That's illegal. Not to mention, it'd be rather difficult to get a social security number, which you'll need in order to get a legitimate job.

You need some form of visa in order to move to the US legally. And if you have no plans to marry, and you don't have a university degree your options are slim to none.

IF you do plan to marry, there's the K1 fiancee visa. It takes a few months processing before you can move to the US, read some info about it at VisaJourney.com
