Wants to move to USA

Post Tue Feb 21, 2012 3:32 pm

My wife and I married at Puerto Rico in 2004. In 2005 we moved to Canada. In 2011 we had our first daughter she was born in Toronto and now she has American and Canadian passport.

We want to move to USA. We don't know if will be better applied from Canada or from USA. Which way will be faster?

My wife works in Canada, so she have an income to be my sponsor, but if we move to USA how she will be my sponsor. She doesn't have family in USA to use as joint sponsor. Once we sold our home in Canada we will have around $100,000 USA dollars. Could we use that money like "sponsor"?

My wife didn't fill federal tax in USA since she moved to Canada.

Thank you.

Walter

visajourney.com check out the CR-1//IR-1 forum!! You as a Cdn can NOT just move to the USA. You would be going for a IR-1 Visa (married 2 yrs or more ) and in the end would obtain a 10 yr green card! Process takes anywhere from 6 months to a yr!! Actually saw a Cdn IR-1 today that only took 4 months, but I would say thats a fluke, lol Everything u need to find out is on visajourney.com. a free, very busy family based immigration site!! Ur (the Cdn) interview would be in Montreal.

I believe an American always (if they made over the min amount) has to file USA taxes??????????

Ur other option would be a work visa

Thank you for your answer.

Since I married with my wife 2 years or more I have to go for IR-1.

It will take any where from 6 months to 1 year?

Since my wife live and works in Canada how she can be my sponsor (I-864,Affidavit of Support)?

Thank you
