Watching Hockey In NZ - URGENT!

Post Tue Aug 22, 2006 1:16 pm

Fellow Canucks. does anyone who currently lives in New Zealand know where I can watch hockey games? I'll be moving there in January and I'm terrified of missing the back half of my hockey season. Is there a website that posts the games. or perhaps a pub that shows Canadian hockey? HELP!

P.S. I'll be living in Auckland.

Hockey afternoon in NZ!

Post Tue Sep 19, 2006 2:10 pm

We live in Auckland and we can watch hockey! We moved in here in June and we were TERRIFIED we would miss the play offs. After a few weeks we discovered that ESPN (through SKY tv - www.skytv.co.nz) carries some games. You won't get the choice of multiple games but there is some hockey - although it is on in the afternoon due to time differences.

We have found that Rugby is an addictive sport too. My hubby was a die hard hockey fan and he has become quite attached to rubgy (and not just the All Blacks, league too). So, the good news is that there is hockey. Some poeple do play hockey here and there are a few ice rinks in Auckland!

Relax! You won't have to quit just cut back!

Thank you so much for your response. That's great to hear that Sky TV shows hockey games as a lot of the apartments we are looking at offer Sky TV! If you ever stumble across a pub that shows games, I would definitely appreciate getting the scoop! I will do the same once I'm down there. Thanks again!

Hey,

If you really don't want miss anything then I suggest you get a slingbox before you move and stick it on a friends cable and broadband internet connection. and then make sure you can get broadband in your new apartment.

it works for me here in Melbourne, Australia
cheers
