Lynz: sorry to see you go! You mentioned in another post that some of the employers you spoke with were reticent to hire you due to a lack of experience in, and knowledge of, the UK media market, so is there a way to do an internship (or whatever young media grads do) to get that experience? Maybe it's a bit late now.

At the end of the day, I hope that you feel that you got something positive from the experience, even if it was just an extended vacation and new friends.

I wish you the best, Lynz, and I hope that you career eventually brings you back to the UK!!!

yeah - I'm going to tough it out - booking a flight this week for sure for January so I at least get New Years over here - Europeans are a great bunch to spend it with (was in Berlin last year).

I've tried that route as well - the problem is that I've got over two years experience and been promoted along the lines at home. They see that and think "well you are overqualified for that and under qualified for anything else" Very frustrating indeed. Trust me...I've been trying all angles

I've been throwing out cv's everywhere....but nothing yet....

Were you able to find anything yet??

Hi peeps, well first and foremost I visited Canada for the first time and I must say you guys are amazing and really now how to host a guest!

So thank you for the hospitality and kindness.

I was actually here to find out if anyone had any idea where to find a Tim Hortons in the UK, I dont think we actually have them here but hey no harm in asking.

Claviclekiss we are a recruitment agency specialising in the Medical field. We are actually looking for someone bright and bubbly to begin working with us in admin to start and if the right skills are there we are happy to invest time and money in you to train you as one of the team.

The guys working here are on £35k a year so its a pretty good sum of money and a very relaxed and easy going environment.

Also we deal with a number of clients who provide accommodation for our staff so we can help you with that should you ever wish to consider our offer.

Good luck with your new move but if you ask me I dont know why your leaving paradise for hell! lol tc

I know this is a Canadian forum - I am a Brit who has just moved to Toronto, so far so good!

We shipped our furniture over and planned to buy converters for our two TV's.

However we have found out only one can be converted, therefore we have a great TV that can't be used in Canada.

I was wondering if anyone is shipping their furniture to England and worried about encountering the same problem when they reach England and would like to TV swap?

My TV is a new Sony Bravia HD ready 26 inch. It can be mounted on a wall or free standing.

Also if anyone has questions about England I'd be more than happy to answer them, I worked in banking and could help if anyone has questions about accounts or the UK banking system.

Hi, I lived in London a couple of years ago and also had background in PR, for jobs I'd look at the guardian, gumtree and prweek websites. As for short term accommodation, I'd check gumtree again or wimdu which lets you rent an apartment or room in someone's flat short term. I wish you all the best!!

@Jingle thanks for the suggestions! I've also been networking with Pr firms on twitter and some canadian PR peeps in the UK. so far so good. We'll see if anything happens.

RE: Tim Hortons - I've seen those mini Tim's in Sparr locations - it would be like going to the gas station and getting a band name self-serve coffee... not a full-blown location. Though, at Canada day ceremony in Trafalgar Sq. i heard there was Tim's goodies like doughnuts and timbits!
