Hi there,
Friends of mine are routed through the US on their flights to North Africa (via London). They want to take some snacks with them (to avoid over priced-airport foods). I am just double checking: They have to avoid the meats right -- does that include in pre-made sandwiches and in beef jerky/ pepperoni sticks (not that those things can really be called meat). What about cheese or other dairy products? Fruit -- will they be told to leave oranges behind?

Thanks for the help.

generally, packaged food is ok, they may not allow the fruit or cheese. No fluids of course, so they can't take their own drink, but they can certainly take an empty refillable water bottle and fill it from the fountain at the airport.

Usually that kind of information is available on the airport and/or airline website, as well as the TSA website for up to date info.
