I think there is a Canada store somewhere in London, and everything is terribly exhorbitantly priced. But my friend who lived there for 2 years and missed Canadian food dearly said it was well worth the couple extra pounds he spent. ;)

You can buy oreos at some tescos and Aunt Jemima pancakes at some John Lewis or Debenhams stores.

I miss Poutine, St-Hubert, Tim Hortons, driving. I will get a car one day here too, understanding people clearly in the streets.

What I don't miss. Canadian/American beer ;)

I miss trees. Portugal lacks big great-smelling trees. I miss dew and shade also, and Vancouver mist that you can see sitting peacefully on the mountains while you sit at your desk. And I miss Tragically Hip songs on the radio, and the feeling I had in Vancouver that everyone shared the same sense of humour. It's true! In Portugal I've experienced sexism to the fullest and blind ignorant religious people who are intolerant of others, and sometimes I find myself mourning our peaceful Canadian thoughfulness that I'm so happy to have inside. Mmmm St. Ambroise beer from quebec is good. I miss all the micro-brews from Victoria (Philips Double Chocolate Porter, and any number of Oatmeal Stouts).

Sexism is definitely common in latin speaking countries, like Portugal, Italy, and Spain. It's funny considering they usually live with their mothers until they're 30 :) haha. (I'm just bitter Italy won the world cup ;) )

I miss the selection I had at the beer store, that's for sure! And I do miss quite a lot of the micro-brews from Ontario like Sleeman's (yeah, yeah, I know they got bought) Algonquin, Trafalgar etc etc.

I have to drive an hour or more to find some decent micro-brews here. And I have yet to find any decent mead in this state!

My local grocers here have recently started stocking a couple of Molson and Labatt's products, but none of their "good" ones. We do have however, a couple English and Irish imports, which are better than Bud any day of the week! bleah.pony piss that rot is. :p
