What does it take to work in New Zealand

I am looking for some insights into what i need to do to move to New Zealand. Mainly I am thinking about work visas and getting a job. I need to be pointed in the right direction.

A friend of mine is moving to NZ in January for a year. They are doing the WWOOF program, and got a working holiday Visa.

I guess it depends what kind of work your looking for. There is also the SWAP program.

I'm also looking for information on that. Particularly on IT jobs and how get visa if you're 33 and no longer qualify for working holiday .
