You would be watching whatever device you connected the slingbox to. If you want to watch your own channels, you need to connect it to a second cablebox.

You could subscribe to Bell ExpressVu at a Canadian address and set it up in the US depending on your location. Of course this is illegal in Bell's eyes though.

If your parents have 2 cable boxes, they could watch whatever they want on their primary TV, and then I think you can watch whatever you want from the second one.

But then if they decide to watch separate programmes in opposite rooms, then you're watching whatever is being watched on the secondary box, whether you want to or not. Which is apt to happen in a two TV family.
