when to apply to EAD with TN visa

Hi,

I have been reading some posts, but I still don't get lot of stuff. I have been reading some lawyers sites, but I think here I will find the answers.

When is the best time for a TN1 Visa holder to apply for a EAD ? Would you recommend right after receiving the SSN ? TN visas lasts for three years so I am thinking to apply once I get the SSN and then wait.

I also heard that EAD can last or two years until I get an "immigration number". I read that on that USICS site. Well this "kindah" tells me that I need to file EAD with something else like the adjustment of status.

How do I do that ? Can you explain ?

With TN you are NOT entitled to EAD.
