Steven,
It's actually 90 days post OPT. So the 90 days starts after the 1 year OPT is completed.
But your link was useful in that I did not know one actually had the 90 days after OPT, I thought one had to leave immediately.
thanks

You said in your original post you'd been on OPT for 3 months. It becomes invalid after 90 days if you're unemployed (how USCIS discovers this is an interesting question, but that's the law). I can't find the DHS blurb on it but this covers it: (Followed by a link)

Not sure why you're getting frustrated with the people who are responding to your original post when they are trying to help you.

You should visit the Non profit companies in person and let them know you're interested in finding work as a career counselor. Even if its part time. Ask them if they're willing to do a trial run with you to see how well you work in that type of environment. My husband is seeking part time teaching at a college also here in Florida and he made connections by visiting the schools career departments. He gave them his credentials and one school may consider him. So we're keeping our fingers crossed. One person posted looking for employment in other states. Honestly, that is true. Being willing to relocate will make the job hunt a little easier and will allow you to keep your options open. Please go to networking events. I've also done that and its not a bad thing. Who knows, you may run into the right person. So keep your head up and don't get so stressed out. You will find what you're looking for you just have to be a little patient. Here is a link to some Non profits in Florida
Your childishness and immaturity is quite evident. I'm not sure what exactly it is that you claim to have won, since this is a forum, not a contest. Acting like a child is not going to get you anywhere with the people on this forum and it most certainly will not get you anywhere in your job search (or in your life).
I certainly hope that we never hear from you again. The rest of us will be better off, believe me.
By the way, I am not, nor will I ever be your "sweetie."

Don't get it twisted hun. I don't heart you. I have to talk down to you for you to understand my jargon. I don't need you telling me how my job search will be in comparison to my "attitude" in this forum. Do yourself a favour, dissapear and take a page from the above posts' book. As a matter of fact I'll save you a copy how about that.

JelisaS » Sat Jun 13, 2009 3:15 pm Thank you darling for not "Bashing" me. Some people just don't get what I'm saying and English is the only language I speak so I'm glad you understood me. I wish you and your husband the very best of luck in the future.
