Where the heck is it? (ancestry visa form)

Post Mon Nov 01, 2010 11:01 pm

I just spent 3 hours searching the net for a pdf form for the ancestry visa. Is it called something else? Am I blind?

if someone could tell me the real name of the visa I am seeking or even better a link that would be awesome.

thx a bunch :)

If it's your first application and you are applying from outside the uk, you have to apply online.

If you wish to ask for an extension, you have to use form FLR(BID) available on the UKBA website (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... extending/)

this is my first application and I am applying from Canada. spent another 2 hours furiously seeking this elusive online application with absolutely no luck.

Anyone have a idea of the proper place to go to find said ancestry visa application? It seems all I can find are people posing as migration specialists boasting services with ridiculous prices, trying to fill the reader with fear that without a migration expert acceptance is a guaranteed fail.

thx again :)

This is the reply I got from the UK Border Agency:

These requirements are set out in our guidance leaflet INF 9 (www . ukvisas. gov. uk/ en/ howtoapply/ infs/ inf9ukancestry) and,
the relevant visa application form (VAF 2), may be printed-out from our web-site at www . ukvisas. gov. uk/ en/ howtoapply/ vafs.

You'll have to remove the spaces because, as a new user, I'm not allowed to post website links.

Hope that helps!
