where to file for P-1 visa?

Post Wed Sep 30, 2009 2:03 pm

I am a canadian living in toronto. I am applying for a P-1 visa with premium processing. I have filled out the I-129 and o/p forms. In the information packet i bought it says i am to send all my info and documents to the USCIS, vermont service centre for processing. When i look online it says to make a visa appointment at the u.s. consulate? kind of confused? anyone know what i should do?

Consular appointments do not apply to Cdns, as they do not require visa stamp for P1. You send your documents to Vermont. Period.

When you approval comes back, just come into US.

If you were not Cdn, then you would take your approval and other required documents to the US consulate, get a visa stamp, and THEN enter US on P1.

Someone is sponsoring your P-1, right?

The sponsor sends the I-129 to the processing centre, when it's approved you either take the approval or the I-797 to the POE.

You do not need a visa: https://www.nvars.com/Production/userhome.aspx
