You may want to consider these cities (if you can find work)

Milton Keynes
Peterborough
Cambridge (but a bit more expensive)
Northampton

All very nice places in East Anglia, all between 60-90 minutes to the centre of London, and living prices considerably lower than in London.

Good luck!

Chester looks pretty good from watching Hollyoaks anyway. Smile

But seems to be a bit of a deathtrap and a place where marriages fall apart. aside from that looks lovely. Smile

Chester is quite nice.
Not too expensive. 30 minutes from either Liverpool or Manchester.
Close to the Welsh coast and Snowdonia.

City style shopping with countryside feel.

Chester is a beautiful little place. I visited there from Manchester and was pleasantly surprised by how pretty it was. Manchester, exciting though it is, is definitely not pretty. Also, Chester is close enough to Manchester so if there were any gigs or events or clubs you wanted to go to, it's nice and handy.

I throw my vote in for Chester.

That said, I quite enjoyed living in South Manchester as well; Didsbury is a quick busride from the city centre and is a pretty little place with a fantastic butcher, some good pubs and just a nice little village environment in a big city place.

All of the places listed will be cheaper than London. Varying degrees, of course (I found Manchester cheap enough), but wherever you choose, you'll learn to live within your means very quickly. I had a smaller place than in Vancouver, but I also took a lot more holidays to exotic places. I ate out less but spent more time enjoying a drink in the pub with a few friends.

Thank You all for your replys!
Your all very helpful!
But I heard you make the same amout in England (or near the same) as you would in Canada.
Right now I make 17$ an hour here and I was wondering if I would make that in the UK? Above I just assumed I would make around 7-9 pounds, thats around 17$ canadian haha well I just confused myself I know, But thanks again for all the help!
