When I applied I needed to get Biometrics done which was the biggest hurdle. Once that was done, I sent the info off and it took 1 day of processing before they sent back the Visa. With all the post travel it only took about 5 days total! So I guess my experience was good.best of luck to you!

Ok another q! Once you got to the uk, did passport control ask to see more than your passport? And did you have to go through customs? Last year when i was in edinburgh, the customs counter wasnt even open.

Guys can I asked you since when you need to do biometrics for a WHM visa?

I got mine in jan 07 and all I needed was over 3000$ in my bank account. I paid the fees online, got a letter from my bank with statements, filled a form and went for an appointment in Ottawa at the british embassy. They asked me 3-4 questions and stamped my visa in my passport, that was it! It took a week in total to do.

As for customs, they cooked me well, asked a lot of questions and details. Just make sure you have on hand the details of your journey and where you are going. Smile

Cooked you eh. :\ I don't like the sounds of that. I know where I am living, and I am not looking for a job the first month. I do not have an itinerary to show them. I leave on this coming Sunday, May 4th, and the ideas of being grilled by customs is the only thing stressing me out Sad I am taking all of my info from when i applied etc. will that help?! I have no idea what else to show. As for the biometrics, i beleive they started late November 2007 Smile

Also I was going to have my dad acquire and send me 3 months worth of bank statements, and a letter of introduction for banking purposes as I have found the teller of my bank that's there when i can go, hasn't been any help to me. Would customs want to see that? *sigh*. I understand why they might be so intimidating etc, but i sure wish customs website had a wee blurb concerning what info they might like to see! I have even searched this website and it seems nobody has directly answered by saying WHAT customs wanted from you. I'm also wondering if it causes a problem to leave the country for a week or two after only been in the UK a few weeks, I'm planning to go to a sunny resort on a last minute deal so its not planned yet! so many questions, and no time to get the answers Very Happy
