Who can answer...

Post Sat Jan 16, 2010 12:29 pm

I am a Canadian and I have a US boyfriend. We have known each other for 11 years and have been traveling back and forth to see each other. I took some time off work this past summer to spend time with him, staying no longer than 21/2 months at one time without returning home. I was denied entry at the border when I went to go back in November as they figured I was living there. I was upfront and completely honest with them and have complied with everything they have asked of me.
I am going to attempt to cross again in another week or two...what I want to know is if anyone has had any similar issues and what the outcome was when they tried to go back. I just want to know what to expect as they certainly have a way with making you feel uncomfortable, even when you have done nothing wrong.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. :)

You need to show MULTITUDE of ties in canada that you can show you will return to Canada, and not stay in US.

You are on recird however as being denied entry, so now you will ALWAYS have scrutiny.

When you say: "I was upfront and completely honest with them and have complied with everything they have asked of me." So should everyone who crosses the border. That still doesn't mean you should be let in.
