You only get one chance to do so many things. My main reason is that I want to be able to look back and say, I did that, I tried that, I was there. I have some older friends who were born in the same town as their parents, they went to school, got a job, married and kids and have never even vacationed outside their town!

Perhaps going overseas is a little extreme to some people, but I don't want to be in a rocking chair in my 80's wishing that I had taken a chance and lived a little more.

If you take a chance, somethimes good things happen and sometimes bad things happen. But if you don't take a chance, then nothing happens.

so many apprenticeships here and opportunities to retrain. They seem to value experience in the UK more than in Canada which is more about qualifications.

well everyone has reasons for living abroad mine are far more deep rooted.

I am a Canadian in Exile, working and living in Moscow, Russia, for over a year now. I enjoy travelling its given me opportunities that will benifit me for many years to come.

I have been to 38 Countries in the past five years but this is the longest I have ever stayed in any country.

I have signed a contract for an another year so it looks like ill be in Russia for awile longer.

Hi,
My wife and I are on the front end of this adventure going from Toronto (we're both originally from Mtl.) to Sydney Australia.

My wife's company of 22 yrs headquartered in France has purchased an operation in Australia. She's 46 and I'm 57.

I really hope she is going to be happy. She is very security conscious and even though I've been investigating from here till I'm blue in the face its going to take finally making the commitment and accepting. From a job perspective it's a bit of a sideways move so the extra money is not overwhelming.

I spoke to the people in Sydney this evening an said that I'd read horrer stories about people who felt they didn't make a good deal for themselves and were dying to leave. In response these guys said that they really wanted her and would do everything to make it right.

Anyway, at least she'll be able to play golf 12 months a year which is her passion.
