Will America Know if I Was Deported from Canada

Hello

I had made an unsuccessful refugee claim to Canada in 2005 and I got deported in 2008 with no criminal record.

I am planning to apply to student visa for USA but I am not sure if I want/need to tell my Canada story. I know that there are important questions in the visa form about living/visiting other countries and deportation and let us say I choose not to write about Canada.

so my question is that will US immigration still know if I was deported from Canada when I apply to student visa?
