Woking??

Post Mon Mar 07, 2011 7:22 pm

I am considering renting a house / flat in Woking.
I am a single professional and I would be commuting into London for work. I do consulting, so there is no guarantee whereabouts in London I would be working on any given day.
My daughter is in the later years of high school.

I would love to hear from anyone who lives or has lived in the Woking area, especially those who have commuted into London.
Thanks!

Working is probably a good place - the schools should be mostly OK. Trains to Waterloo are frequent - I believe fast trains take about half an hour.

You can change at Clapham Junction for Victoria, and there are tube connections at Waterloo for Canary Wharf, the City and the West End.

Could get more tricky if your work takes you outside central London, but that would apply to pretty much anywhere you choose to live.
