Work In Israel

Post Sat Dec 31, 2005 1:21 am

Hello everyone...

I am a new member and just wanted to give it a shot. I am going to Israel in a month to live with my girlfriend who is from Tel Aviv. I am Canadian and Non-jewish, so getting working papers is out of the question for now. I was wondering if anyone has been there and/or worked there? I need to find a job "under the table"...Working in a Hostel or Restaurant..or painting houses..whatever..So let me know...Thanks...Burgash :D

I came to Tel Aviv from Vancouver on February 3rd to live with my boyfriend here. Being non-Jewish and all, I've been having some problems with the work situation. Let me know how that goes for you. It'd be nice to hear from someone going through the same loops.

Good luck.

Hello...I also arrived just two days before you...I am living with My girlfriend in Tel Aviv and Enjoying it...It is a bit of a shock after India..but nice. My girfriend has hired me for now to paint and renovate her condo...so that helps. But after that I will look in the Central part of Tel Aviv..where the ocean and tourist area is...Why not check there? there are ots of bars and restuatants that I am sure are always looking for english speakers...So maybe try that...Good luck...Lorien..

p.s...Are you in Tel Aviv or another of the sub-cities?

Hey Lorien,

I'm right in Tel Aviv. I'm living quite close to the boardwalk where all the bars are and I know someone that works at the "Whisky Go-Go", but I'm not sure that they would want to hire someone that doesn't speak Hebrew. English isn't as prevalent as I thought, but maybe I will check it out...having nothing to do is losing its appeal. I'm trying to learn Hebrew, but that may take awhile :-) Where are you from in Canada?
