Work Visa -

Post Wed Apr 06, 2011 1:58 pm

Hi All,

I'm from Brazil and I'm a permanent resident in Canada for 2 years and I might have the opportunity to get a contract job in London (less than a year).

Being a resident (but not having a canadian passaport), can I apply under the Youth Mobility Visa?

If not, which option would be better, if I don't have an official offer and/or might not have my employer to sponsor me?

Thank you for your help in advance.

I think you have to be a citizen of Canada, New Zealand, Australia or Japan. If you didn't have to be a citizen, that would allow other nationalities to obtain a passport from any of these countries and enter the UK. With that said, I don't know for sure - you might be best to talk to someone about that.

If you are looking to already have a job (intra-company transfer or whatever) then you may be able to get them to sponsor you however that doesn't mean that you will necessarily have enough points to qualify to apply.
