Working as an Actor in the UK!?

Hiya everyone;
I am an actor in film and TV and would like to work for a Winter in the UK just to get some international experience and figured it would be fun .
Anyway, since I am planning to go for less than 6 months and am in the Tier 5 category (creative and sporting careers), according to the UK Border Agency website, I do NOT need a Visa to work there but I cannot find any info. on how to go about getting permission to work as an actor for that time!
I'm in a unique position because I would not have one 'employer' per se; since I would be working for different production companies on each job and I would be auditioning for jobs (which are not paid).
Anyone have any clue who I should contact or are there any other actors/film crew on here who could point me in the right direction??
I'm 31 and sadly don't qualify for the Working Holiday scheme any more either or else I just would have done that!
