Working in AU or NZ

Hello there,

I am exploring my options to travel and work in AU or NZ, I am a Canadian citizen, I am not interested in work holiday visa as I am over 32 years have wife and kids. I am business analyst (IT), so I am considering work permit or visa for AU or NZ. I will appreciate if anyone can direct me to the easiest and best route to getting a professional job in AU or NZ. I am planning to be in AU or NZ for 1-2 years, I don't plan to get the residency or citizenship there. Do I need to get visa first or job first? Can I get work permit with out sponsorship by an employer?
