Working in France for 4 months?

Postby stebed » Wed May 14, 2008 8:30 pm

Hi, my girlfriend I are thinking about moving to Scotland for three months in September, going to Thailand for a month and then coming back and staying in the French alps for the winter, four months. We had considered Switzerland but I've read that it is nearly impossible for foreigners to get work there. She is educated and works as an Occupational Therapist in Canada, I do not have a University degree and am self employed. We looked into what it would take for her to work in her field in Scotland and unfortunately its more hassle and costly than its worth. so we were hoping we'd be able to find some work while we're there, nothing fancy jobs that don't require any kind of education or particular skill that can't be learned on the job. We have our passports, exactly what visas/permits would we need? Other paperwork? Thanks!
