Is there a quick way of acquiring permission/permits to work in the arts/broadcasting in the US? Been offered part time radio work - similar to what I do in Canada as a freelancer, but the offer was withdrawn because of perceived immigration costs and filing fees. I would be crossing the border maybe once a week to do this - very part time - is there any way around this?

Depends on what the nature of the work is, it might qualify for something like H-1B or it may be possible to do it without work authorization at all if it falls into one of the B-1 NAFTA provisions - do a web search on: "B-1 NAFTA entry".
