Working/Travelling Aboard

Post Tue Sep 08, 2009 10:03 am

Hello,

I'm a 34 year Canadian..I've travelled to Europe and the UK three times since 2007...I'v always had the travel bug starting at a young age. I was born and raised in Calgary; however, I've had this feeling that I would love to travel and work in a different country...experience something new and different but becasue of my age..34 I'm limited on working visas, as most countries are 17-30, which sucks for me me...lol. However, I did do my research and found that Italy's working visa is 17-35 and I think there are a few more countries as well that fall under 17-35 for a visa.

As, I said I've grown up and made a life for myself in Calgary I owe my own home and currently working and attending part-time school, but this feeling of travelling doesn't want to go away...it screams at me..lol Maybe I just want to see if someone in my poistion with house... travelled for a couple years...and now they got their affairs sorted out before leaving...where do I start first I guess would be the first step.

Thanks for you help!!! :)

Usually you're going to need a degree and work in some sort of in-demand occupation in order to be able to immigrate into a country on an employment-based visa for any length of time. It's either that or do it the family way, e.g. one of your parents was born in another country so you can get citizenship that way, or you marry a foreigner, etc.
Steve.
