Worldbridge ancestry visa application

Post Mon Jan 17, 2011 3:51 pm

Hi, first of all, sorry if my question has already been answered elsewhere on the board!

My girlfriend, who is currently in Canada has just applied for her Ancestry visa to come to the UK in July. She applied on the 10th Jan and has her biometrics booked in Toronto for February.

However, she saw something on the Worldbridge website that said that you could only apply upto 3 months in advance - so is currently a little worried that her application won't go through and she will have to apply again nearer the time (leaving in July) and have to pay the fee all over again.

Has anybody any experience of applying more than three months in advance? We've found that Worldbridge are very difficult to get hold of via telephone and e-mail!

Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

Hello,

I am not sure what their response will be. I doubt that they would grant her a visa for a date beyond three months or hold her application.

She will most likely have to accept a visa that is valid starting in May 2011 depending on when they issue it.

I had the same thing happen. I applied in June and postdated it for the 3 months to Sept. Once the visa has been issued there are no problems. We are leaving next week. So the worst that can happen is they will date it to start in May. Good Luck
