Would I be allowed to stay in the US for 4 straight mos

Post Fri Jun 27, 2008 5:40 pm

Since January of this year to date, I have
been in and out of the States for a
total of 30 days. Would I be allowed
to go back in the States this August
for 4 straight months? I do not want
to lose my canadian citizen status
so I wanted to make sure that I am
still within my limit.

I appreciate all answers to this
query. Also, I would like to know how
can you be away from Canada before
your citizenship is revoked?

You cannot lose your Canadian citizenship just by visiting a foreign country for a few months. Or even years. There's a formal procedure and a bunch of paperwork you'd have to fill out to denounce your citizenship. Once a Canadian, always a Canadian. They don't care how long you're away.
