Youth Mobility Scheme Visa

Youth Mobility Scheme Visa

I have just completed my online application and have scheduled my appointment for the biometrics in a couple of weeks.

I just want to confirm the documents that I should submit with my application when I attend for the appointment:
1-passport
2-letter from my bank indicating the amount in my savings account (I don't statements mailed to me as it is a savings account)
3-one photo that meets the requirements

Is that all? Or am I missing something? Thanks for the help.

i think you also need to take along a copy of your printed out online application, and proof that you've paid the visa fee already. otherwise, that's it.

Hey there,

I am currently applying for the YMV (tier 5) visa, and one of the questions in the online application asks what my old passport number is and where it was issued. I got a new passport in 2007 as my other one expired, and Passport Canada just kept my old one in their offices.

I called Passport Canada and they can't disclose my old passport number on the phone, and they need to send something to me in mail, BUT it's going to take up to two weeks to get to me.

Is it crucial to add this information into the online application???

Thanks for your help,

Kelsey

The guidance specifically says:

"Where the information is available, please provide travel document or passport number, issue and expiry dates and place of issue. Say where your previous passports are, for example, with you, lost/stolen/expired or returned to the issuing country and no longer available to you."

It is likely sufficient to indicate that your previous passport was retained by Cdn Govt when your current one was issued. Specifically mention that it was expired and cancelled. That is an option that is mentionned in the guidance.

Otherwise, wait the 2 weeks to get the old information, or find some old documentation that might have it written. Are you in a hurry?

Their concern is that no one be able to use the other passport.

Lesson learned: keep your old paspports when getting the next one.

Hey thanks for the help with the expired passport question. I've been trying to contact the uk border agency via email, and well no response...SO I thought someone on here might be able to help! ;)

On the VAF9 application form, in part one, it asks how many points did i score for attributes, English and maintenance? Where do we find the points total for english??? Attributes im assuming is my age/nationality, and maintenance i know is my funds i get that part..but the english i have no idea!

if someone could help me that would be very much appreciated!

thanks,

kelsey

The are no points for english on YMV applications, so enter N/A for English.

I just got my letter from the bank today stating that I have a minimum of 1600pounds in my account, but she didn't state the Canadian balance in my account..does it matter? because either way, i have more than the minium of 1600 pounds..but does she need to directly write in the exact amount in canadian dollars?

but she added in my savings account number, so do they call my bank to see how much i have in my account then??

not really sure how it all works,
if someone could let me know that would be great, because i don't mind going to the bank again to get them to change things if i need to do so.

thanks,

kelsey
