Two questions: What are the gas and diesel prices like, and how available is access to the Internet? I haven't been down in about 15 years, been working like crazy to be able to emmigrate there, so am getting close to my goal now :)

Gas and diesel prices are high, considering that we produce the stuff here. Access to internet is widely available. :)

Gas prices are set by the state and are about 70 CDN cents a litre right now. Not sure on diesel, sorry, but that too would be a fixed price. Prices haven't moved in the 8 years I've been here.

Gas for home water heating and cooking is also set by the state and is subject to some movement. Right now, a 30 L tank (good for a family of four for about 3 to 4 weeks) runs around 26 CDN dollars.

Broadband Internet is widely available. Telmex offers a package with a landline and hi-speed Internet for about 35 CDN dollars a month. There are cable Internet options as well.
