Compared to many of its neighbors, Singapore is clean, quiet and free of chaos. You’ll love visiting Singapore City, with its world class zoo, Asian Civilizations museum and Hawker centre, where you can find great local cuisine at incredible prices.
Singapore City also has a very active Indian culture, housed mostly in Little India. This area boasts traditional Indian shops and restaurants, but is best known for its Sunday evening gatherings, filled with music and great Indian food. Be certain to visit the Temple of 1000 Lights in this part of town.
When you’re ready to get out of the city, head to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Here you’ll find Singapore’s only surviving rainforest. The view from the summit is spectacular. And, along the way, you’re likely to spot monkeys, pythons and plenty of birds.
The MacRitchie Reservoir is also a great place for the nature lover. It is located in the Central Catchment Nature Reserve and is an incredible lake, surrounded by a great jungle trail with a tree-top walkway. It’s the perfect place for boating or fishing.

Changi International Airport is about 20 minutes from the center of Singapore City, and is mostly likely where you’ll enter the country. Singapore Airlines is the national airlines, but you can enter the country on many different airlines, depending upon your point of origination. You can also travel into Singapore by bus or train from Malaysia.
