Honduras is a beautiful country and a pleasure to travel in. Things are a little more laid-back here and also you'll find prices lower than the surrounding countries. Costs: It's quite easy to get by in Honduras without breaking the budget. On $25 a day you can get a decent hotel room, three meals and your transportation. You can up that to $40 - $50 in the cities if you want to live the high life.
Tegucigalpa (don't worry - It's commonly referred to as Tegus) is the capital of Honduras. The city is located at a high altitude (about 1000m above sea level) and is surrounded by picturesque mountains. There are many attaractions located around Tegus and you'll easily be able to spend a couple of days looking around.
The Bay Islands, off the coast of Honduras, are great for diving and snorkeling. The islands are called Utila, Roatan, and Guanaja and enjoy the same series of coral reefs as Belize.
