You’ll see many sights including the President’s residence and the Thurston Botanical Gardens. Visit the museum, do some local shopping and grab a bite of the local cuisine at one of the restaurants. This city is built on a peninsula, and the architecture found along the harbor is a testament to its colonial roots. If you’re willing to travel a little off the beaten path, take a tour of the Bouma National Heritage Park.
The park is located on Taveuni (the garden isle) and there’s lots of things to do. Snorkeling, mountain trekking, kayaking, or swim in one of the three waterfalls, t name a few. It’s a large park so give yourself plenty of time to see, and experience, as much of it as you can. If you’ve got time, you might consider fitting in a tour of the largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere.
The temple is located in Nadi, which is located on the island of Viti Levu. The temple is a three-part Sri Sive Subramaniya temple. The intricate craftsmanship of traditional Dravidian style of the temple is rarely seen anywhere other than India, and the height weight and width of each design has a religious meaning.
