At Imeungs, located in the island’s southwest, you’ll find 37 stone monoliths. These concrete structures are known as Badrulchau. They are exquisite examples of Babeldaob’s early civilization and way of like. You can also visit the remains of Palau’s history, which include incredible stone foundations and pillars. And, the rest of Palau is just as interesting.

In the capital city of Koror you can shop at a host of gift shops that sell a wide assortment of goods. Jewelry and other unique handcrafted items are available. Or stop in at one of the restaurants for an eclectic taste of the islands. Sure, you can get some American food as well as Chinese or Japanese, but wouldn’t some fresh seafood or one of Palau’s unique exotic dishes be better? The Palau National Museum is also located here. It houses over a thousand different replica images of Palau’s history.

What Palau is most noted for is the art form of storyboard. Incredible carvings carved into long pieces of wood depict Palauan legends. The detail is absolutely amazing, and is a true testament to the craftsmanship of Palau’s residents.

Swim among more than a million jellyfish in Jellyfish Lake. Yes, jelly fish. The lake is cut off from the rest of the ocean so there’s no escape for these transparent, boneless wonders of the sea. Don’t worry about getting stung either, they don’t have stingers. A trip to Palau is truly an amazing adventure.

It takes approximately 14 hours to arrive from Los Angeles. The main airport is Koror Babekdaon, located on Babeldaob Island. International cruise ships aren’t known for calling at Palau’s ports, but visitors can pay to sail in privately.
